From what I read in the poem I think people didn’t care for others but themselves. So those who had a dream or a goal, some were able to do what they want. While others were stuck or gave up on what they were going for because of the struggle they had to go through. So those who made it were lucky enough because it wasn’t easy for everyone else.

        As I was reading on self-reliance it did help me understand in many ways. The way he explained it was kind of confusing, but I know what he meant. So I’ll be writing his tone. The diction the author use. Also the way the author used syntax.          The author tone toward what he wrote was, he was confused of everything. He didn’t really get the facts why people care what others think. Not just other people he would care himself, so he tried to help people understand everything and himself as well. The author wrote this story so people could understand, its not always good to try to blend in with others.       But the author chose the right diction to try to explain it all. He tried to describe everything that was going on. he used big words for an example. He didn’t use them to be fancy or to look smart. But he used them to show people he know what he’s talking about. As the teacher was ready the “A sound of Thunder” I was thinking about it after. I think what the author was trying to say was they had to be careful. They had to be careful because little things can make a big difference. So they had to follow all rules or direction that were given in order to make it out safe.
